This weekend has been a quite eventful one with many things going on. I went to bed around four in the morning after access, woke up in about three hours or so, took a shower, dragged myself out to angell hall for Detroit Partnership day so early in the morning. I’m definitely willing to volunteer but waking up early on a Saturday isn’t too exciting… We picked up our shirt, ate bagel, and spent some time reading the words, then kept praying on the way to the crisler center. Praying is fine too, but I’m half awake trying to pray for the city of Detroit, heh. Our group had to plant trees and it was much more tiring than I expected. Having to dig through the fresh grass with a shovel in a cylindrical shape, place the pre-grown tree, stabilize, put soils, stomp to get rid of the air bubbles, and so on. I was thinking it’d be much easier for gardening professionals to be paid and do better jobs, but knowing that 1500 students were volunteering along with me, I had nothing to complain about. After finishing up pure physical labor work, headed to relay for some speeches, ate at the Union and debriefed more, and it was 8 pm already, oh gosh, +12 hours gone from this alone. Then I went home and passed out for a few hours… no work done. Then went off to celebrate Bri’s 21st birthday, found Yif nearby and talked to her for some time. Although I could complain about my life all day, others have too many things on their plates too…sigh.
Then comes the Sunday celebration at 9:30 in the morning, and I rush up to get the tv setup in the foyer to display announcements, sat through the sermon and I had the hardest time trying to stay awake, ugh. I went home to nap for a bit, talked to my mom for a bit, went off to start preparing for Catalyst blessing for a few hours, and the blessing went pretty well. Although too many people were busy and there weren’t too many all-in people, oh well.
I have a lot to do before the sun rises in the morning, but I feel so unmotivated and my head feels so heavy. Maybe I need to eat and sleep more regularly.
