We had a baptism today with 13 brothers and sisters from our church. Baptisms tend to take a long time with a dinner following up with many celebrations. Each testimony shares a new perspective along with a similar common ground that God seeks us, not the other way. Although we may try hard to get away with our own personal desires and goals, God continues to seek us at all times.
One of the testimony today shared something that resonated with me. This person had been baptized as an infant and was confirmed when he grew up, and felt no need to get baptized again today, since he already went through it. As I thought of myself who went through the same procedure, I was having the same thought as well. Then he said he decided to do it to recommit his life to Jesus Christ since he now knows that God alone is the way.
I thought to myself that I wouldn’t be able to give a good testimony if I were to be up there, and what could I even share. But it’s not about pleasing people or sounding great up there in the end. Although I’m running low on time right now, baptism are always great and I’m happy for each person who got baptized!
