My sister
March 7, 2012

My sister is eight years younger than me and I kind of miss the days when I used to do act silly to make her laugh when she was just a little baby. She’s almost 14 now and it’s crazy how fast time has passed. As a middle child, I don’t know if she doesn’t like it or not, but I think she pretty much gets whatever she wants.

Although it’s only inevitable that she’ll be exposed to the ugliness of this world, I’m glad that she is smart enough to do well in school and do much better than I did. She got into Stuy, won science olympiad, and accomplished many that I could not in the past. I’m proud of her and want to be a better older brother, but being away from home and busyness aren’t helping at all.

It’s a bit sad that kids’ accomplishments become parents’ trophies to share with others, but I’m glad that she’s still able to keep up with it. Hopefully she’ll never have to cry.
